Technology for Marketing & Advertising TFM&A Goes Social with Infogroup
Manchester, UK — Infogroup/UK, an Infogroup (NASDAQ: IUSA) company, the leading provider of data driven and interactive resources for targeted sales, marketing and research solutions today announced it is teaming up with Technology for Marketing & Advertising (TFM&A) to host the integrated marketing event’s first every first ever social media mash-up, bringing together everyone who’s digitally talking about the event into the one virtual environment.
The idea behind the social media mash-up is to provide a central platform whereby people can meet-up, interact and engage with the event and the online conversations taking place.
With thousands of interactions likely to take place across social networks, http://www.infouk.com/tfma will pull in TFM&A-related feeds and content from the likes of Twitter and Flickr to capture and share the buzz of the event. As a result, even people not attending the event or following on Twitter, can track, find out what is happening and join in.
“Mash-ups are great for bringing people together with our last one at the DMA Conference in San Diego hosting more than 5,000 online conversations,” said Andy Taylor, Head of Marketing and Sales for Infogroup/UK.
“Ultimately, events are not all about what happens face-to-face on the exhibition floor. By teaming up with TFM&A we want to encourage more people to connect and do business whether they’re attending in person or online. We’re really excited to see what buzz and business the mash-up can help create.”
Natasha Berrow, TFM&A’s Event Manager, said, “The TFM&A mash-up is our first ever and we hope everyone gets onboard by using the hashtag #tfma in all their TFMA-related tweets. By providing live commentary from the event, we’ll be able to reach out and connect with more people and businesses. Mash-ups are being used to cover live events, especially sporting fixtures, and we're really keen to see what sort of impact and value the TFM&A social media mash-up will bring."
The TFM&A and Infogroup team will also be live blogging, uploading photos and video interviews, posting competition prizes, including netbooks and laptops, and streaming updates from exhibitors, speakers and seminars. Infogroup is also sponsoring a live social media mash-up lounge at the exhibition where people at the event can meet up and network in person.
http://www.infouk.com/tfma will also continue to track conversations after the event and will act as an archived record of TFM&A 2010.
Follow @InfogroupUK or @tfma_event on Twitter for more information and please use the #tfma hashtag so that the TFM&A social media mash-up team can find your TFM&A posts more easily.
